Brackwell Supply Co. is a fictional brand. This studio concept shows how Egoryx would approach a real brief like it; it is not client work and reports no results.

The challenge

Where they are stuck.

Brackwell supplies lumber, roofing and drywall to contractors across central Ohio from two yards. Inventory lives in one spreadsheet, quotes in another, and delivery runs on a whiteboard.

Counter staff phone the yard to check stock before every quote, and managers approve discounts by text message, so nobody can see why a job ran late or a price changed.

Our approach

How we would tackle it.

  1. 01

    Map the real workflow

We would shadow the counter, the yard and dispatch for a week and document every handoff, then agree which ones the software should own and which should stay human.

  2. 02

    Ship the core first

Live inventory and quoting go out first, because they unblock the most people. Dispatch and reporting follow in later releases, shaped by feedback from the counter.

  3. 03

Plan for gloves and bad signal

Yard screens use large targets, high contrast and offline queues that sync once a tablet is back in range.

What we would build

The pieces that do the work.

Live inventory

Stock by yard and bay, updated as orders are picked, with low-stock alerts set per product.

Quotes and approvals

Quotes priced from contractor tiers. Discounts above a set limit route to a manager with a clear audit trail.

Dispatch board

Drag-and-drop delivery scheduling by truck and driver, with a mobile view that sends proof of delivery back to the office.

Role-based access

Counter, yard, dispatch and management each see what they need. Every permission is enforced on the server, not just hidden in the UI.

Deliverables

What the team walks away with.

  • Workflow map
  • Product design
  • Next.js web app
  • NestJS API and PostgreSQL
  • Tablet yard view
  • Staff training guide

What we would measure after launch

  • Time to produce a quote
  • Stock discrepancies found at count
  • On-time deliveries
  • Approvals waiting more than a day
